Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund
To deal with the consequences of the Russian invasion and threats the war poses on the Ukrainian art community – (MOCA) Museum of Contemporary Art NGO, in partnership with Zaborona, The Naked Room and Mystetskyi Arsenal established the Ukrainian Emergency Art Fund.
Ukrainian Filmmakers, Artists and Academics at Risk – Honorarium Opportunities at North American Universities
This form is intended for those of you who could give a screening or presentation on Zoom to the North American universities. The idea is that the universities would be able to pay you a honorarium for this presentation and help you in a small way. Such honorariums range from university to university, but it’s usually $200-$300. A warning, sometimes it takes a while to process all the paperwork to get paid. So, sign up, tells us about yourself and your work, and hopefully someone will reach out.

LSE – Scholars at Risk Scheme
LSE Scholars at Risk is a centrally funded initiative to support scholars at risk by enabling them to be hosted at LSE in a visiting fellow or senior visiting fellow status. For the purpose of the scheme, a scholar at risk is a scholar who faces or has recently fled from an immediate, targeted threat to their life and/or career in their home country or country of residence. LSE is open to hosting candidates with a strong academic or research core at various stages of their career. In order to be granted a place as a hosted scholar at LSE, a person would need to satisfy the usual criteria of academic merit applied to all LSE visiting fellows/senior fellows.
Leipzig-Institut für Geschichte und Kultur des östlichen Europas – Scholarships for Refugee Academics from Ukraine, Belarus and Russia
PhD students, postdocs and senior academics in the humanities and social sciences who do research on the history and culture of Eastern Europe from the Early Middle Ages up to the present. Academics from Ukraine (independent of their nationality) as well as from Belarus and Russia (if they distance themselves from the regime) can apply.

Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities – Special Fellowships for Russian Researchers
Following the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, many members of the scientific and academic community of Russia had to flee the country because of their disagreement with the government’s policy. These people find themselves in trying circumstances abroad. As an immediate response, the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities is offering to fund up to 10 Emergency Fellowships for Russian researchers throughout the year, to allow them the opportunity to continue their scientific work in Israel.
IIE-SRF Fellowships
The Institute of International Education’s Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) is the only global program that arranges, funds, and supports fellowships for threatened and displaced scholars at partnering higher education institutions worldwide. These year-long fellowships of USD $25,000 support temporary academic positions at institutions of higher learning anywhere in the world where IIE-SRF fellows can continue their work in safety. In most cases, IIE-SRF fellows are eligible to apply for a second and final year of fellowship support.
Leipniz-Institut für Länderkunde – Support for Ukrainian Researchers
The IfL is committed as a host institution for researchers who have fled Ukraine.
In addition, the IfL offers support to researchers from Russia and Belarus who are at risk due to the Ukraine war and the situation in their countries. The prerequisite is that their previous academic work fits in with the IfL’s main research areas (migration and mobility, urban and spatial development, border research, history of geography, geovisualisation, etc.).
Texas Tech University – Shelter Options for Scholars at Risk
