The Gerda Henkel Foundation is making grants available for Ukrainian scholars. This initiative is aimed not just at Ukrainian citizens but also at researchers from Russia and Belarus who for political reasons are no longer allowed to work, are being threatened, or have to leave their country.

Ukrainian citizens working at a Ukrainian university can apply for funding for a research stay at HHU of up to 30 days via Erasmus funds.

We will once again provide funding from the Initiative and Networking Fund to offer people from Ukraine transitional professional prospects in Germany. In justified exceptional cases, funds can also be granted to refugee scientists from Russia or Belarus. In doing so, the Helmholtz Association is fulfilling its social obligation to offer transitional professional prospects to refugees.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Basel is providing qualified individuals who have fled Ukraine (Status S) with the opportunity to continue their academic activities and research projects at the Faculty on an interim basis.

The Unipd Scholars Rescue Fund offers research fellowships for Ukrainian scholars and other nationalities who are entitled to international protection.

This website gives an overview of emergency resources available to students and scholars from Ukraine at the University of Texas.

We have recently offered emergency support to 16 scholars under threat from Turkey from the generous donations of ISPP members. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any more applications to the emergency fund until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.

EDUFI Fellowship for doctoral students from Ukraine provides doctoral level students from Ukraine the opportunity to continue their academic work in Finland and supports the academic community and the reconstruction of higher education system in Ukraine.

The German National Academy of Sciences introduces a special fellowship for scientists from Ukraine who have their careers in science endangered or interrupted by the war to resume or continue their research activities, and remain in academia.

The Dubnow Institute offers:
1. short-term fellowships for Ukrainian researchers (PhD students and Post-Docs) of Jewish Studies/History for up to 3 months.
2. to host Ukrainian Researchers with support by the Volkswagenstiftung, Alexander von Humboldt-Stiftung, Philipp Schwartz-Initiative, DFG: Walter-Benjamin-Programm.

Cara (the Council for At-Risk Academics) provides urgently-needed help to academics in immediate danger, those forced into exile, and many who choose to work on in their home countries despite serious risks. Cara also supports higher education institutions whose work is at risk or compromised.

The BHMPI has created the #ScienceForUkraine Art History Fellowships, a dedicated call for application by researchers in the field of art history who are at risk in Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus, independently from their nationality.

Academy in Exile offers scholars who are threatened in their home countries because of their academic or civic engagement for human rights, peace and democracy the opportunity to resume their research abroad.

This platform gives an overview of available workplaces and facilities (paid and unpaid positions) at Dutch academic institutions for Ukrainian academics, researchers and scientists.

The website of the University of Zagreb provides an overview of study and work opportunities for Ukrainian students and staff members at the university.

The Institute of Sociology of the University of Warsaw invites Ukrainian students to participate in their courses (as “free listeners”).
